new birthday is the first LP album of Post Scriptum Jazz – young performers from Belarus
who are playing their own compositions. The musicians experiment with Latin American,
classical, soul and fusion music and are inspired by artists such as Joshua Redman, Brad
Mehldau, Chick Corea, Robert Glasper, Aaron Parks, Cory Henry, Mark Guiliana and
Seamus Blake. The quintet was formed by saxophonist Kiryl Matsenka in 2012 and includes
Eugene Ryshkevich on guitar, Pawel Orlow on bass, Alexey Maksimov on drums and Alexey
Kazak on piano. All five members are active as composers and arrangers who collaborate
outside of Post Scriptum Jazz with internationally renowned Artist such as Bob Sheppard,
Arturo Sandoval and Cleveland Watkiss.
The Album is born at a place, where there is currently no place for it. In spite of
everything, the music is full of energy, beautiful melodies and aspiration. The recording
took place at the Everest Media studio in Minsk on a vintage SSL 4000 Console and was
mixed in stereo and immersive sound by producer and engineer Kseniya Kawko. Dolby
Atmos and 7.1.4 Auro-3D were mastered at MSM-studios in Munich, the Stereo Mastering
was done by cs mastering in Vienna.

Immersive Sound Art is aiming to present outstanding independent Artists in the entirely
new experience of immersive audio technologies. Additional spatial information make a
more natural reproduction of instrument timbres possible and lead to an acoustic
envelopment that involves the listener more emotionally into the musical performance.
The reference quality product is manufactured in a sustainable process on demand and
therefore issued in a hand selected numbered edition to the customer. Enjoy the music on

Art Blakey discovered and championed young talented musicians such as Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Keith Jarrett and Wynton Marsalis to name but a few. But he also delivered the "message" of hard bop through thousands of performances at festivals right down to the smallest club. Lively, joyous performances, the very highest technical standards and somnambulistic music-making characterize this recording. Right from the very start it is clear that these jazz ambassadors have a new message for us. The hard-beat recordings win in lyricism thanks to the gentle sound of Curtis Fuller's trombone, something that was often missing in the powerful Blue Note sound. Four jazz evergreens give the musicians the time and opportunity to display their soloistic talents. The real climax, however, is to be found in the harmonic layering of the three winds which lend the themes new appeal. The message was broadcasted many times until the death of Art Blakey, but the history of jazz would have been a great deal poorer without these milestone recordings on the Impulse label. Art Blakey certainly knew how to delight his audience with fire, originality, a wealth of ideas and great humor.

Lou Donaldson Blues Walk

Lou Donaldson's undisputed masterpiece, Blues Walk, marks the point where the altoist began to decisively modify his heavy Charlie Parker influence and add a smoky, bluesy flavor of his own. The material is still firmly in the bebop style, and the mellower moments aren't as sleepy as some of Donaldson's subsequent work, so the album sounds vital and distinctive even as it slows down and loosens things up. What elevates Blues Walk to classic status is its inviting warmth. Donaldson's sweetly singing horn is melodic throughout the six selections, making even his most advanced ideas sound utterly good-natured and accessible. The easy-swinging title cut is arguably Donaldson's signature tune even above his late-'60s soul-jazz hits, and his other two originals, "Play Ray" and "Callin' All Cats," are in largely the same vein.

In the late fifties and early sixties, alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson recorded primarily with his own quartet with pianist Herman Foster or with organ trios. Occasionally, he'd break the mold as he did on this February, 1960 session that was strictly a hard bop affair which includes trumpeter Bill Hardman and pianist Horace Parlan. There's still plenty of funk in evidence as "Goose Grease" bears out, but "Hardman's Politely," "Softly As In A Morning Sunrise" and "The Man I Love" find Lou digging deep into his bop roots.
